Work on Organizational Capacity & Governance
Key Accomplishments
Over the last year, through member engagement by the board and through the consultations at member meetings, members have stepped forward to join the board, to form and join the Governance and Policy Committee, and form and join a Community Engagement and Communications Committee.
✓ Review of co-op governance and ASCCH Bylaws, which included exploring alternate governance models, a special resolution on revision of board membership, and a commitment to incorporating consensus-based decision making in Sea Change’s development (members meetings, committee’s, design and development) while adhering to current Bylaw’s.
✓ The Governance and Policy Committee has worked on the development of a suite of needed core policies which include:
- Revisions of Committee Terms of Reference
- Code of Ethics Policy
- Meeting Procedure Policy
- Financial Management Policy
- Spending and Procurement Policy
- Harassment and Discrimination Policy
